Canvas setup
Register RFM as an LTI 1.3 developer-key tool in a Canvas beta or test account first.
Prerequisites
You need Canvas root administrator access, an RFM staging invite, and a sandbox course. The initial workflow uses manual registration.
Register the tool
- 1
Open Admin, then Developer Keys, and create an LTI key.
- 2
Enter RFM’s staging target-link, OIDC login, redirect, and JWKS values.
- 3
Enable the key and install it for the test account.
- 4
Copy the Canvas issuer, client ID, deployment ID, authorization URL, and JWKS URL into RFM.
- 5
Create one external-tool link in a sandbox course and launch with Student View.
Canvas notes
Canvas beta and production are separate environments. A verified beta setup does not automatically create or authorize the production deployment.
Dynamic registration may be evaluated later. The initial contract and documentation assume a manual setup path.
